Last week I shared one of Kyle’s favorite cocktails, an Old Fashioned. This week for Thirsty Thursday, I’m sharing the recipe for a Grapefruit Gimlet which is one of my favorite cocktails. I first had a gimlet at the grand opening for a studio I opened with a friend and loved it! Since then, I’ve played with different flavors while making my own gimlets and love this simple and refreshing take on a classic!
Gimlets are traditionally made with Gin but ,if you’re not a fan, they can also be made with Vodka. In addition to the classic lime, I’ve added a twist of ruby red grapefruit juice! It gives the cocktail a beautiful blush pink color and an extra dose of citrus. Since this cocktail includes citrus, it is shaken and then strained into a chilled drinking glass, typically a coupe style cocktail glass. This is a great and simple cocktail to serve at your next party or get together!
Grapefruit Gimlet
2oz Gin
1oz Grapefruit Juice
1/2oz Fresh Lime Juice
1/2oz Simple Syrup
Add gin, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker fill with ice and shake for 10 seconds. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with lime. Enjoy!
